According to sources, Mallikarjun Kharge will file his nomination today along with Shashi Tharoor for the elections to be held on October 17. Tharoor will also file his nomination before the 12.30 pm deadline today.

Mallikarjun Kharge will resign from the post of Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha for the post of Speaker on the basis of one post one person rule in Congress. Congress leaders have made this clear.
