Amit Lodha Biography
Amit Lodha IPS were born on 22nd February 1974, he was a student at IIT Delhi, in the year 1995. He completed his schooling at St. Xavier School. After finishing IIT, he attempted the UPSC exam and also clears it on his 1st attempt. Currently, (as of December 2022) Amit has posting as an Inspector General Officer (IGO) in Bihar. Amit has always liked ‘men in uniform’ and they were his idol. The maternal grandfather of the Officer was also an IAS officer and he always had greatest respect towards him. Since he is a shy person, he never had imagined that he would ever thinking of becoming an IPS officer and also, he would wear the Khakee uniform. He also writes the book ‘Bihar Dairies’, which become the inspiration for “Khakee: The Bihar Chapter”, Netflix series.
Amit Lodha: IIT Journey
At first, Amit’s focused on academics, and he crackes the IIT entrance examination on his first attempt. But his journey in IIT was depressing.
In an interview, he says,
“I failed at everything. Suffered from depression & suicidal thoughts. I thought I was the unluckiest person in the world. My grades were the worst, and my interpersonal relations poor. My friends liked me for the goodness of heart. But even they stayed away from me because I was quiet and perceived to be strange. Never invited to parties or the first choice for sharing rooms. I could never fit in.”
After having this unpleasant experience at IIT, in Delhi, Amit chose to appear for the UPSC exam, and he clears the exam on his first attempt as well. He became an IPS officer in the year 1988, due to having personal connections. He keeps maintained with people around him, helping him to soon made his way into their hearts of them. While he has posted in another state. Also, he becomes the SP of the state of Nalanda at the age of 25 years and then he became the SSP of Muzaffarpur.

It contains the information regarding his time of chasing the dreaded gangster Mahto (he didn’t put his name in his book) and charged with several murder cases which includes the murders of the 2 policemen during his jailbreak. This book became a hit among the people and also inspires the Netflix series. He also writes another book named ‘Life in the Uniform’ which was published in the year 2021. The Netflix series named ‘Khakee: The Bihar Chapter’, leading role by an actor Karan Tacker. And created by Neeraj Pandey. It was a hit and get a positive response from the audience and the critics. This show is based on the life chapter of IPS officer Amit Lodha in which he writes in the book ‘The Bihar Diaries’.
