Once this feature is enabled, users will see a contact card with their name followed by “you” at the top of the contact list. Using this, users can just tap on their name and will be able to send messages to themselves. You can send pictures, videos and other media files to your own contacts while you are using any other app and the main purpose of this is to keep your data secure.
How to enable the feature?
This WhatsApp application users need to update to the latest version from their Google PlayStore or App Store. In the contact list, you’ll see your contact card, which you can use to chat with yourself. The “Message Yourself” feature is rolling out in a phased manner and will be rolled out to all WhatsApp users soon.
