Yashwant Sinha has nominated as the Presidential Candidate by the Combined Opposition parties for the 2022 Presidential Elections, which leads to his resignation from Trinamool Congress (TMC) in June 2022. Janata Dal

Yashwant Sinha party joined politics as a member of the Janata Party just after he resigned from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1984. Then, Yashwant Sinha is appoints as the All-Indian General Secretary of the Janata Dal party in the year 1986. After that, he got elected as a Member of the Rajya Sabha in the year 1988.

Yashwant Sinha IAS joined the Indian Administrative Service in the year 1960 and spent over 24 years of his life holding important posts during his services. He has served as the District Magistrate and Sub-Divisional Magistrate for four years. Also, he was Deputy Secretary and Under Secretary in the Finance Department of the Government of Bihar for two years after that he worked in the Ministry of Commerce in the position of Deputy Secretary to the Government of India.

From the year 1971 to 1973, he was the First Secretary (Commercial) at the Indian Embassy, Bonn, West Germany. Afterwards, he worked as the Consul General of India in Frankfurt from the year 1973 to 1974. Yashwant Sinha acquired experience in a matter relating to foreign trade & India’s relations with the European Economic Community after working for over seven years in this field. After that, he also worked in the Department of Industrial Infrastructure, in the Government of Bihar State and the Ministry of Industry, in the Government of India where he deals with foreign industrial collaborations, intellectual property rights, technology imports, and industrial approvals.

Later he became the Joint Secretary of the Government of India from the year 1980 to 1984 in the Ministry of Surface Transportation, there his main responsibilities were ports, road transport, and shipping. In the year 1984, he resigned from the IAS service.

Yashwant Sinha took participated as a Presidential candidate for the 2022 Presidential elections as he was nominated. This unanimous decision also makes him the 1st Trinamool Congress leader to nominate for the President. After his nomination, Yashwant Sinha IAS resigned from the All Indian Trinamool Congress.

It is a practice that held over from British Rule days which sought to present the Indian budget at a time convenient to the British Parliament (11:30 am GMT) rather than India’s Parliament.
